Three Tips for a Productive Weekend

All working women, especially working moms, know that it does not matter how much you would like to do nothing on a weekend, there is always a long list of things to do and errands to run that prevent our desire from having a relaxing weekend. Since most of us are working during the week and dealing with children after work, Saturday and Sunday are the only days to do laundry, clean the house, go shopping, etc.

Once I used to have a roommate who always cleaned the house and ran her errands on Friday afternoon after her work. I used to consider her crazy, as it is supposed to have a happy hour or hang out with friends on a Friday night. However, she was smarter than most of us. By doing all the things she had to do on Friday night, she had the entire weekend to do all those things that she wanted to. If you are that kind of person that is not excited by having errands on Saturday and Sunday morning, here are three steps to have a relaxing weekend.

Making Monday through Friday Run More Smoothly

You can tweak the weekend routine and gain some extra free time. The weekend routine tends to fly by. However, you can use all of your time and learn to do the necessary things easier. To make the weekend more productive you can use these three tips:

  1. Steps to a More Relaxing WeekendMake a to-do list and a schedule for your errands. Spend a few minutes every Friday thinking which tasks you have to check off by Sunday evening. Try to do all of them in one day, this way you will have at least one full day to spend it whatever you like.
  2. Keep up your weekend routine. If you usually wake up at 7 a.m., do not sleep until 12 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Try to stick fairly close to your everyday sleep schedule; this will help your body feel well. The same goes for the diet: you should not shock your body with a great amount of extra food or alcohol. A weekend does not mean that you have to forget about your healthy habits.
  3. Chill out, guilt-free. Do you know what is the best thing that you can do to begin a productive Monday? Have a nice and relaxed weekend. Use this free time to enjoy everything you like. Do not forget to maintain the work-life balance.

Use these simple tips to enjoy your weekends and start the new working week feeling happy and full of energy.
